Short-term practical seminars on individual themes
In addition to lectures, there are specialist seminars consisting of 4 sessions. These seminars are designed to supplement knowledge outside students' fields - science seminars for humanities majors, and humanities seminars for science majors. The science seminars include Analysis, Linear Mathematics, and Statistics, while the humanities seminars include Politics, Law, and Economics, and the IT seminars Programming and Internet Technology.

Discussion Program
A forum to exchange knowledge
The main aim of this compulsory subject is for all students to improve discussion skills - the key to successful dissemination of an acquired knowledge and expertise. Once every year, all students have a chance to make a presentation on their chosen research theme in front of the other postgraduate students. This requires the ability to explain your field of expertise to those from different fields and gain their understanding. Also, to learn various speech techniques, students take part in group debates and presentations, as well as discussions with other universities.

Forum
Learning from pioneers of knowledge
We hold a monthly open forum, offering the public a chance to explore and share knowledge. All participants get to provide input and exchange views, having professors and invited lecturers as guests.

Laboratory-based research activities
All postgraduate students will take seminar classes and conduct a research project under the individual guidance of an academic supervisor. In the case of a research theme encompassing several different fields, instructors will give appropriate advice to students beyond the walls of academic. This is one of the features of VALDES. Here we cross the disciplinary boundaries to integrate knowledge.
