VALDES is currently involved in a number of joint projects with various organizations in and outside the campus. Students can participate in these projects according to their field of interest.

Tokyo Tech Service Innovation (2008- )

This program aims to create social service design innovators, who are able to design, create, evaluate and innovate the value of useful social services so as to provide feedback and create innovative science and technology for society.

International Program on Consensus Building (2007- )

This program was established with the aim of creating a new "Consensus Building" - a platform for solving and smoothly managing social issues by concentrating knowledge from a wide variety of disciplines including Social Systems Engineering, Consensus Based Decision Systems, and Simulation Technology  from the sciences, with Law, Sociology and Political Studies from the humanities.

Digital Humanities and Engineering Special Education and Research Course (2009- )
This is a cross-discipline course was established for students who have an interest in the new field of integrating engineering and humanities. Students can study both technical text processing skills together with the subtleties of humanities.

Four-University Alliance: Medical/Dental and Engineering Special Joint Course  (2006- )

This graduate course was established with the cooperation of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University based on the Four-University Alliance Agreement.

Tokyo Tech-Tsinghua Joint Graduate Program: Decision Science and Technology Course (2004- )

Twinning program that educates and confers dual degrees for Chinese and Japanese students enrolled in the advanced interdisciplinary courses of both Tokyo Tech and Tsinghua University, Beijing.

Research, education and information relating to the design of world civilizations in the 21st century. A number of VALDES professors are core members of this Center.

As in the nationwide COE Program, "Creation of Agent-Based Social Systems Sciences" (2004-2009), a number of VALDES professors plays an active role as a core node of NOE (Network of Excellence) for interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary research.
